What personal data ElevatedCholesterol collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how to exercise your rights.
ElevatedCholesterol.com is operated by Hippocrates Origins SRL, a company registered in Romania, registered office at Str. Primăverii 18A, 075100 Otopeni, Ilfov County, Romania, fiscal code (CUI) 53707410, Trade Register number J2026006987004. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

Email sign-up for the free plan. When you request the LDL Grocery List + 7-Day Starter Plan, we collect your email address. We use it to send you a confirmation email containing the download link. The legal basis is your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Newsletter (optional). If you tick the box to receive occasional emails about new LDL evidence, we record that choice and send you those emails. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email, without affecting the free plan you already received. If you do not tick the box, we will not send you newsletter emails.
Emails you send us. If you write to us, we use your message and address to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Website analytics. We use Umami Cloud to count page views and see which pages are useful. Umami does not use cookies and does not build profiles of individual visitors; we only see aggregated statistics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The quiz and calculators. Answers you enter in the quiz and in the PREVENT calculator are processed in your browser to show your result. They are not sent to us or stored by us.
Please do not send us health details by email. We are not able to give individual medical advice.
We use a small number of service providers, each bound by a data processing agreement or equivalent terms:
Kit (formerly ConvertKit), United States — stores email subscribers and sends our confirmation and newsletter emails.
Umami Cloud — cookieless website analytics.
ImprovMX — forwards email sent to our hello@ address.
Our web hosting provider — serves the website and keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operation.
Google Fonts (Google) — the site loads fonts from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address when a page loads.
Some of these providers are located in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised by the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
We keep your email address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending emails and delete or anonymise your address within 12 months, keeping only the record needed to respect your unsubscribe. If you never confirm your sign-up, the unconfirmed address is deleted within 90 days. Correspondence is kept for up to 24 months.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@elevatedcholesterol.com. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Romania this is the Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro; you may also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting subscribers will also be announced by email.
